Privacy policy
This policy describes how Salah Scroll (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use our marketing website and our mobile application. It is meant to help you understand what we collect, why, and your choices. It does not constitute legal advice for your own situation.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller for Salah Scroll is the person who operates the Salah Scroll website and app. For any privacy request or question, contact us at danial.ali028@gmail.com. Where applicable law requires a postal address for the controller, we will provide it on written request to that email.
2. What data we collect
Website
- Technical data: when you load pages, typical hosting providers process data such as browser type, approximate location from IP where applicable (often region or country), and requests made, according to their own privacy policies. We do not operate an email signup, contact form, or account registration on the marketing site.
Email you send us
If you email us (for example at the address in section 13), we receive what you put in the message and normal email metadata (such as your address and timestamps). We use that only to respond and to operate Salah Scroll, as described in section 3.
Mobile app
The app is designed so that prayer-time verification from your camera (confirming presence in frame for a session scaled to typical salah length) happens on your device. We do not intend to receive a video recording of your prayer or to store raw pose or motion replay on our servers. If the app ever sends minimal technical data to our systems (for example crash reports, aggregated usage, or account status), we will describe that here and in the in-app privacy information before collection.
3. How we use your data
- To run and improve the website and app, secure our services, and comply with the law.
- To reply when you contact us or exercise privacy rights.
4. Legal bases (UK / EEA)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on consent where required (for example certain marketing), contract where we need data to provide a service you asked for, and legitimate interests (for example security, analytics in line with your expectations) where allowed. You can object to legitimate-interest processing in some cases.
5. Third parties
We may use service providers who process data on our instructions, for example:
- Hosting and infrastructure for the website or backend.
- Analytics or product services, only if we enable them; when they process personal data, we name the active providers in this policy or in the app before collection begins.
Those providers may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
6. Retention
Website technical logs are generally retained for whatever period our hosting provider keeps them for security and operations. Email you send us is kept only as long as needed to respond and handle follow-up, unless a longer period is required by law. App-related retention is described in the app and updated here if we add server-side processing.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object or withdraw consent. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO).
To exercise rights, contact us using the email in section 1.
8. Children
Salah Scroll is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in your region. If you believe we have collected a child’s data improperly, contact us and we will delete it where required by law.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not use advertising cookies. Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored in your browser using local storage on your device so the page looks the same when you return; that setting is not used to identify you across the web. If we introduce optional analytics or similar cookies that need consent under your local law, we will update this policy and use a consent mechanism where required.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and adjust the “last updated” date. For material changes to how we use website or app data, we will notify you where appropriate.
12. Related terms
Our Terms of use govern use of the website and app. If anything in these documents conflicts, the more specific notice for a particular service applies.
